A couple of weekends ago, I met Ryan, John, Freddy, and Sara. They were among the first to take delivery of the Camper Kit Lite. Both Ryan and John had made their way from Washington to BC for this special occasion, and Freddy and Sara were local. In the morning, we met up at the manufacturing facility in Chilliwack to get everyone’s systems set up. This was the very first time we got to meet each other, and everyone was really excited about receiving their camper kits and the adventure ahead.
Once we had everyone’s setup ready and posed a picture together, we headed to lunch, where our first bonding session began. We shared stories about our previous adventures, chatted about technologies, and talked about our personal and professional lives. After lunch, we picked up some groceries for our camping night and set off for our hike to Lindeman Lake.
Lindeman Lake is a 3.4 km, mostly shaded trail with a beautiful, green, cold lake nestled between mountains. It was the perfect quick trek on a hot summer day. I had told everyone we’d get to take a cold dip, and I was pleasantly surprised that everyone was so eager about it. So, we did. 🤘
After a refreshing hike, we headed towards our campsite, which I hadn’t researched enough in advance. We ended up driving on a long forest service road that took an hour. Freddy and Ryan were totally up for the challenge with their stock Model Y (kudos to their adventurous spirit!) as we navigated around tons of potholes and made it to the campsite.
We cooked two pots of pasta, stir-fried onions and bell peppers, and steamed eggs in the cool egg steamer Fred and Sara brought to the trip. It was super awesome to observe how everyone was utilizing their camping systems for the first time and finding different ways to optimize their setups. After filling up our hungry tummies, we spent the evening bonding over this newly developed friendship, and we’re stoked to plan some multi-day hikes in September!
